M.Com, LL.B. - Enrolled as an Advocate on 15th July, 1964. Practised in the High Court at Calcutta and the City Civil and Sessions Court from July, 1964 till March, 1970. Joined the West Bengal Judicial Service on 30th March, 1970. Promoted to the West Bengal Higher Judicial Service on 28th February, 1987. Functioned as District Judge, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, District Judge, Darjeeling and Judge, City Civil & Sessions Court, Calcutta, till September, 1996. Functioned as Registrar and Registrar General in the High Court at Calcutta. Elevated as Judge of the High Court at Calcutta on 5th June, 2000.
