Born on August 30, 1955. Passed B.Sc. in 1977 and LL.B. in 1982 from the University of Calcutta. Enrolled as an Advocate in December, 1984, joined Calcutta High Court. Practice mainly as a defence Lawyer in criminal matters. Was a Panel Lawyer of Union of India, State of West Bengal as well as Kolkata Municipal Corporation. Was appointed as a permanent Judge of Calcutta High Court on June 22, 2006.
