Born on 7th January, 1950 passed School Final in 1965 from Naimouza High School, Sujapur, Maldah. A graduate from Maldah College obtained his Masters in English Literature and LL.B., who joined Maldah District Court in 1974, and after a brief stint, he joined the West Bengal Civil Service (Judicial) in the month of January, 1978 as a P.S.C. candidate. Occupied a number of judicial assignments in different district of West Bengal till he was appointed Deputy Secretary and Joint Secretary in the Department of Law, Government of West Bengal. And then became District and Sessions Judge Birbhum, in the year 2003, then became Judge, City Civil Court, Calcutta. Also served the office of the Appellate Authority, Metro Railway, Calcutta. Appointed Chief Judge in the City Civil Court, Calcutta in 2006 and acted as Ex-officio Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Kolkata in 2006 till he is elevated to the Bench in the High Court of Judicature at Calcutta as permanent Judge on 24.06.2009.
