M.A .(History), L.L.B. - Born on 25th December, 1947. Graduated from the university of Calcutta in Arts in 1965. Passed L.L.B. from the University of Calcutta in the year 1968. Enrolled as an advocate under the Bar Council of west Bengal in 1969. Passes M.A. in History in the year 1970. Started prctice as an Income Rax Consultant and tehreafter joined west Bengal Judicial Service as Munsif at Howrah Court in January, 1975. Promoted to Higher Judicial Service in May . 1992. Appointed as District judge , Uttar Dinajpur in 1999. Joined as Registrar( Vigilance & Protocol ) at High Court, Calcutta in 2000 and thereafter as Registrar ( Listing ) and subsequently held the post of Registrar General (officiating ) till middle of May, 2002. Appointed as District Judge , 24 Parganas ( South ) ( Alipore ) in May, 2002. Worked as Chief Judge, City Civil & sessions Court, Calcutta from January, 2003 before being elevated as judge of the High Court, Calcutta on 19th January, 2004.
