B.Sc. (Hons.), LL.M. - Born on March 4, 1952. After completing Graduation with Honours in Mathematics from Calcutta University, passed LL.B. and thereafter obtained Master's Degree in Law, also from Calcutta University. Passed WBCS (Ex) and certain other services examination, 1978 and served for 2 years. Also passed WBCS (Judicial) Exam, 1979 and joined in 1981 and got his first posting as Munsif on probation at Alipore on 13.05.1981. While in the rank of Assistant District Judge, he served on deputation as Deputy Manager (Legal) in the Food Corporation of India, Calcutta, from 26.06.1998 to 29.11.2000. Subsequently, he was promoted to the West Bengal Higher Judicial Service w.e.f. 30.11.2000. After working as Additional District & Sessions Judge at Jangipur, Midnapore and Alipore, he was posted as the Competent Authority, Metro Railway, Calcutta, from 02.05.2005 to 28.11.2008. Thereafter he was appointed District & Sessions Judge, Uttar Dinajpur, and remained in that post from 01.12.2008 to 22.12.2009. He also worked as a Judge VII Bench, City Civil Court, Calcutta from 23.12.2009 to 09.07.2010. He also served in the Registry, High Court, Calcutta, as Registrar (Vigilance & Protocol) and thereafter as Registrar General till 31st March, 2012. He was elevated to the Bench as Additional Judge of the High Court at Calcutta on 09.04.2012 (AN). Appointed as Permanent Judge of the High Court at Calcutta on 10/09/2013 (AN).
